Default Clutch falls to the floor

Hey guys, I searched but still not sure whats going on with my 93 Integra. It has an ACT clutch that came with the car (good shape). THe other week I installed a brand new rebuilt short geared ys1 tranny with mfactory LSD (syncrotech). I hooked up the clutch cable and there is absolutely no tension in the clutch arm/lever. I can push it up with one finger, totally loose. When I push the clutch pedal down it just sinks to the floor, I have to lift it back up. I am thinking that the clutch return spring popped off when I removed my old tranny and disconnected the clutch cable?

Even if the clutch return spring popped off, should there still be like no tension on the clutch lever itself. it is so easy to move and this was a stiff clutch with the old tranny? If anyone has pics of the clutch return spring in a DA integra that would be a huge help.

I also don't have the shift linkage currently hooked up, its off the car, but I doubt this will make the clutch fall like that with no tension.

Release fork issue? I'm lost, help me out guys thanks

Thanks

honestly, I couldnt tell you. The clutch felt great before I swapped transmissions though.

I'd like to install a lightweight flywheel to compliment the shorter geared tranny, but at this point I'd like to save a few bucks and not do a clutch install if it is just something like the clutch return spring on the pedal. could this be possible?

Sounds like clutch release shaft, [#3] is not connected to clutch release fork, [#2] maybe bolt, [#7] is missing or sheered off.
http://www.acuraautomotiveparts.org/...ystemcomp=List All&vinnoT=&trim=&trans=&view=normal

Also make sure Clutch Assist Spring, [#36] is in place and working properly, clutch pedal should return to the "up" position even if not connected to the clutch release shaft... http://www.acuraautomotiveparts.org/...ystemcomp=List All&vinnoT=&trim=&trans=&view=normal
I would also check the cable, [Clutch Wire #19] to make sure it is not binding. 94

adjust the clutch line that is what keeps tension on the pedal when you would push it in.. or you might on broken the line..

FCM your the man! I think it may be a combination of issues. I swapped my old tranny out and bolted this one in. I thought that there was nothing to it, i just removed all the bellhousing bolts, starter, ect. I removed the old tranny and placed the new one onto the motor and reattached all of the bolts. Everything felt good.
How would the release shaft not be connected to the release fork? The tranny came fully assembled by synchrotech.

And the spring (part 36) is in place but the pedal just gets sucked down to the floor when I push it at all and won't come back up.

Also, was I supposed to swap over the throwout bearing from the old transmission, or is it part of the clutch assembly. I just pulled the old tranny off and threw the new one on.

Syncrotech told me that the throwout bearing is not included with the trans because its part of the clutch assembly. Would the TO bearing come out with the old transmission when i took it out? I think I got in a little over my head

Problem solved, maybe...
The "TO bearing", [#1] is most likely missing.

Do you have the old transmission, is the bearing still in it?

If so, you will need to pull the transmission, [at this point you will need to anyway] and install a NEW, [do not reuse old one] bearing. 94

Yup, looks like I'm gonna be pulling the tranny back off . I'm going to get a new TO bearing from acura, but what about the clutch release fork (part #2) and the release fork spring (#5). Can these be reused from the old tranny? I still have the TO bearing and parts in the old tranny btw. Thanks again!

As long as there is nothing wrong with them, reuse them, except for the TO bearing, I would replace it with a new one.

Check your local parts stores for a non OEM TO bearing, you don't need to spend $50+ to get a good TO bearing. 94

Local parts store quoted me at like $58. I'll just go oem and spend an extra 5-10 bucks for piece of mind. Thanks fcm, you've been a huge help!
