Questions about sir ek4 front disc/gsr rear disc brake swap into 99 civic dx
My car: 99 Honda civic coupe dx
Setup: sir ek4 front disc swap and gsr rear disc swap
Problem: so everything is in and I'm about to order stainless steel brake lines. I need to know what lines to get. Can I use the si whole set or do I have to get si front and gsr rears? And will my rear wheels lock up with my dx proportional valve? Do I need si prop valve?

since you have a dx you will need a 96-98 ex or si master cylinder and si prop valve.
if you stick with the dx prop valve your rear brakes could lock up and will definitely wear down fast. i read around 25,000 miles from new.

just to clarify:
the ONLY thing a new, larger MC will do is be able to move more volume of fluid, likely resulting in a slightly shorter brake pedal travel. it is recommended but not necessary.
also:
the proportion valve is recommended because the disc/drum valve is a 40/30 and the disc/disc prop valve is a 40/40. the only real issues i can see with not changing the prop valve is that the drum valve may have a delay function to delay engagement of the front brakes so that the rear shoes can activate first to make up the distance it takes to contact the drum, so both front and rear brakes apply at once. not all manufacturers use this system and i am unsure if honda does.
ontop of that:
iirc all rear trailing arms are the same (except type-r) so integra 94-01 rs, ls, gs, gs-r, civic 99-00 sir etc are the same and therefore should use the same brake lines.
at the very least i know for a fact that the connection at the hardline and the connection at the caliper are exactly the same, so at the worst case scenario, you may simply have to bolt the support brackets elsewhere.

You DO NOT need to change the prop valve. The 99 DX shares the same prop valve as the 99-00 Civic Si.
