Vent? How is that related to your stereo?

i dunno i just noticed it after i installed my stereo.. maybe when we wired my stereo or something.. seems like it doesn't remember my old settings.. for example before i turn off my car i closed the vent. when i start my car the vent opens by itself..

What car? A little more vital info would be nice if you don't want your thread locked.

What wires did you splice into for the stereo install?

I have no idea what you're talking about. Did you hack the wiring or did you use a proper adapter harness to install the new deck?

With these you don't splice into anything.

Which is it? You used a harness or you spliced into "the spare power wire by my fuse box below my steering wheel"? If you used a harness you wouldn't be having this issue IF the problem is actually related to your deck install.

i was having problems with the stock power wire (the wire the is included with all the wires behind the radio area) so what i did is i used the spare power outlet (sorry i dont know what exactly they call it) by the fuse box below my steering wheel to power up my radio.

What is a "spare power wire"? I am still trying to understand what that means.

um.. theres a plug by the fuse box below my steering wheel that you can get power. so what i did is i used that to power up my radio.

This has got to be coincidental. I don't own a 2000 but I don't see how these two systems are interconnected. Possibly you should just concentrate on the climate control system.

ok. but i didnt do anything on that one. its just disconnected it when i installed the radio. thats why im thinking coz i rewired my power wire maybe it was affected or something. btw, i also tried a different climate control system and still it didnt stay on the setting before i turned my car off.

I'm wanting to say digital/electronic. Not mechanical like the 96-98s. Don't quote me.

Thats weird they didnt keep using them in the 01 civics... possibly a short you moved and made contact with something else while moving wires around. possibly theres a reason they didnt keep using them after 2000... can you pull the fuse for it and see if they stay in there spot.
