92 LS no spark or fuel pump
Hey guys, this is my first post on this great forum. Im sorry, its a HELP post, but I have a problem I just cannot figure out. I have a 92 Integra Ls, mostly stock except for thrush muffler, cold air intake, and a couple other minor bolt ons. I really enjoy driving the car, and plan on fixing it up nice next year, as the body has a couple rust spots, small dents, etc.
Anyway, the car turns over fine, but there is no spark at the plugs, and the fuel pump dosent kick on. It happened after I got home from work one day about a month ago. I shut it off outside my house, then came back out to restart it, and it just cranks, no spark or fuel. Some things I tried off the top of my head : I tried a new main relay, and that didnt work, so I brought it back and exchanged it for another new main relay, because I got sketchy readings when checking for continuity, but neither relay would start it. I checked for power going to the relay at the plug, and all 3 tests per manual checked good. I checked the no.24 fuse under dash, and ecu fuse under hood, and both those checked out fine, even replaced them, that was not it. I tested for power going to these fuses, and there is power on each side via test light. I can get the fuel pump to kick on if I jump the no. 5 and 7 at the main relay harness plug in. What does that mean? The pump is good, but wont kick on with the relay in place for some reason. There is still no spark if I jump the connector for the relay and try to start the car. The MIL dosent flash any codes when the plug is jumped, and stays on when the key is turned on, dosent go off after 2 seconds. I know these two problems are connected in some way, but where can I go from here? Is there a oil pressure switch that would enable the system like this? I read somthing in a Haynes manual that briefly stated this oil pressure switch, along with a anti theft device, which my car dosent have, but the manual didnt go into any other detail. I also checked the ground wires and cleaned surfaces at the thermostat housing, and the one that goes from the head to the front of the car, without any luck. I have been following a Honda manual in PDF manual that I downloaded on line, and am to the step where you have to connect a special connector tool to the computer and test the leads. I looked around, and it looks like this tool is about 800 dollars, so that is out of the question. Would it be a good idea to take the computer cover apart and look inside for damage? If I needed a new computer which one would I need, my car is a stock OBD1 1.8 manual transmission if that really matters? Will a automatic trans ecu work? I dont know if it could be the computer, the car ran perfect, and didnt have anything funny happen since I owned the car. If anyone has any ideas or tips on what to look for or check next It would be greatly appreciated. Thanks again, ---- Jonny.

Jumping from 5 to 7, if that is black/yellow to yellow/black only means you supplied power directly to the fuel pump power lead.
Try this, plug the PGM-FI Main Relay back in, hold the relay in your hand and turn on the ign. switch, does relay click?
If so, with relay still plugged in and ign. on use a jumper and jump from 3, [black] to 1, [green/black], does fuel pump turn on?
If so, ECU/ECM is not triggering the fuel pump relay, you will need to get to the ECU/ECM and check for power at IPG1 and IPG2, [the only two (2) yellow/black leads at the ECU/ECM.
You can also test for power at the injectors, [wire that is the same color on all four (4) injector plugs] ign. switch must be on, PGM-FI Main Relay plugged in. 94

Yes, the relay clicks once when the key is turned on. In this quote above, where are these wires at? At the pgm-fi relay plug in? And if so, how can I jump it with the relay plugged in? Thanks, --- Jon.
