Motor Mount Bolt Slipped half-way out, question/
heya..
about 2 months ago i had a b16 swapped into my 98 ex. About 2 weeks ago, everytime i would shift fast I would feel a big "clunk"....well, i thought my rear motor mount was broken but upon closer inspection today i realized the bolt is sticking halfway out!! is it just me or did the shop that did my swap not tighten it enough? i don't think it should have come loose at all like that. i tried using a socket to tighten it back up, but to no avail it just keeps turning and turning (with a wrench on the other side) so i was wondering, would I have to somehow, push the engine down/up to push the bolt all the way through to bolt it down? what the hell should i do
thanks...glad I found the problem tho!
sorry for the long post..
am i gunna have to

Same exact problem as me a few months back. I couldn't get that bolt back in because it was hard as hell to line the bolt back up in the hole straight so I used a air hammer and got it through.
believe it or not, those bolts are "locking" bolts and Helm's suggest they be replaced when removed. The only thing I can think of is that it wasn't properly torqued when installed, or it actually needs replacing.

make SURE its torqued correctly.

i am at college, so I don't have access to the proper tools...should a competent shop be able to do this? is this a "car" specific type of bolt or is it something any place should have? and would a honda-dealership probably charge like 100000 dollars?
thanks again guys!,

looks like the bolt is only $3.53 from hondaautomotiveparts.com. Any shop should be able to remove/install it for you.
I believe item number 13 is what you are looking for.

Just jack the car up and look up under the intake manifold; you should be able to handle it.....or bring it here and I'll do it for only 100 bucks j/k.
