sorry wasnt sure where to post this. so i have a 1991 honda accord and i just put new 18" enkies. when i went to put the driver side front on, the stock wheel was stuck and i stripped out a lug nut bolt. so i took the caliper off, put a new one on and everythings ok now. I know my car needs an alignment because the stock tire was very worn down and tugged to the left. anyways, today on my way home i shift fine into fifth and would let off the gas and here a thump. so i stopped at a red light, reved my motor and didnt hear anything. took off again got up to fifth, let off the gas and thump again. also when i turn left it sounds like a crackle noise. idk what it is, do i have the caliper bolts backwards? do i need a new cv joint? how much would a stock cv joint cost?

cv joint will make a clicking noise when turning. if you here the clicking replace the axle.

check and make sure all the bolts you removed are properly torqued. im not sure why it would make this sound only when letting off of fifth though. did you check the other bushings(tie rid, lower ball joint, upper ball joint, stabilizer bar, radius rod) while you were in the wheel well? a damaged/missing bushing can cause all sorts of weird sounds.
how did the the two cv boots look? a cv joint going out can also cause some weird noises. and when it does go out you will have two pieces of axle flying around still attached to your car at high speeds. if the boot is torn at all it is best to just replace the entire axle since replacing a single cv joint is pointless. if the boots are not torn but seem old and worn then the boots can be replaced. make sure to not let any dirt inside the boot when removing and reinstalling though

 

well luckily it was none of those, i looked at it and it ended up that 2 of the lug nuts came a little loose. so i tightened them up and havent had a noise since
