Default d16y8 redline problem "Won't got pass 6,500 RPM"

Okay, here is the dealio. My d16y8 swap finally revved to 7K mark when I first put the p28 ecu, right? But now, it won't even go pass 6,5000 RPM. I'd like to get some knowledge about this problem... I really don't know what could be wrong.. I got the right ecu and everything. Vtec cracks loud; however, comes to a halt when it hits 6,500 RPM. My friends 93 d16z6 redlines at 7,200... He's all stock too! Is it because I haven't converted my 5 wire oxygen sensor to a 4 wire oxygen sensor? Any advice is greatly appreciated!

The stock redline is 6600 (for auto, for stick I assume the same), as for your ecu changing it I am not sure.

Unless you are over reving it, which is bad, have a stick I assume?

I don't know what the hell is wrong with the car. I mean, vtec cracks but it won't still go pass 6,500 RPM. I mean, it did go to 7K at first, now it's a no, no!

I think to be exact it is 6800, but when you look at the dash tach you might be hitting the rev limiter.

I fixed the problem already and it turns out that my car needed to warm up a little in order for it to hit redline to its potential.

Why would you redline cold? Worst idea ever, wait for it to warm up.
