1994 Civic EX - rev limits at 5300 rpm

1994 Civic EX - rev limits at 5300 rpm

I recently bought a 94 ex with a sohc vtec and it has around 7200 as a red line on the tach but it just the bump at around 5300 or so. Anybody have an idea as to why?

Sorry. My engines rev limiter is kicking in too early at 5300 or so rpm.

I don't know. The check engine light doesn't appear to work. Bulb may be gone.

Your car is in limp mode, probably because of a CEL
Get dat light bulb fixed and check dem codes!
