if you use a base head you are pretty much gonna be starting with nothing..

do yourself a favor and buy a type-s head.

BTW why do you want to build a frank? And if you are serious (no offense) then you should know the difference between a base head and type-s head for your k20/k24 frank.

What are your horsepower goals?
Going N/A or boost?
Why not just run a k24 longblock?
Do you just like the sound of k20/k20 frank... in the end it's still a k24.

It's easier to just find a complete type s head instead of the entire valvetrain

You'll need kpro regardless so what ecu you use doesn't matter as long as it's from a manual car. If you're using a 6 speed tranny a prb is preferred because it has the reverse gear lockout.

Get a k24a1 head. It's the best stock flowing head from production. They sale for cheap. I got one for 100 shipped with all valve train. You can buy k20a2 valve train for cheap. Type-s rocker assembly for like 50 and cams for 50-75. You can build a k20a2 head for under 400 and it will flow better. K20a2 heads go for like 600 and k20z1 for 750.

Use that rsx base head as a paper weight, that's about how good that head is worth.

Go explore k20a.org and ephatch.com, soak up all the information in because you are about to get into knees deep into k series.

As in ecu, you will need k-pro for sure. It's not worth risking that engine.

K series is nothing like b series at all. It's like comparing apples to oranges. You have lots to learn young grass hopper.
