So everytime I make a left turn, U turn, or a regular turn theres this noise. It sounds like a scraping noise/ knocking noise. It comes from the drivers side. Im thinking that its my axle because the boot is torn? Could it be my axle thats making the noise?

 

axle, bad ball joint, bushing. get in there and look - us guessing wont give you any answers.

 

what would I be looking for? will i need a new axle?

 

Look for any worn parts aka torn boots, tie rods that are loose (as in try to move everything to make sure it's all still stiff) see if you have play in any suspension component that shouldn't have play. It's pretty easy to spot when something is bad down there.

if you cannot determine what it is and don't have anyone mechanically inclined to assist - i highly taking it to a shop asap...

 

Probably the axle (torn boot was a pretty good giveaway). Do you have the knocking noise over bumps (could indicate a ball joint issue)? If the car was WHINING on turns I would be worried about the diff but it doesn't sound like the case. Good luck.
