Need comfort suspension
I need suspension that will withstand cruel NYC potholed streets. lowering springs and kits are too harsh and barely absorb as much rough damage unless you know of one that suits me. I researched springs and ended up just getting stock fresh honda springs. lifted up the ride few inches and made it smoother. but need the shocks. not too harsh. smoot soft ride yet can take a beating. i dont care about dropping extremely low. i care more about daily comfort driving, as this is my daily driver. Any suggestions? or maybe a coilover set where i can adjust the height not too low, but then i wouldnt know how that affects the ride due to the springs spring rate.. the manufacturer's have their own recommended settings, if you mess around with it, my be off, idk. suggestions..

KYB GR-2's are a really nice everyday shock and they have a lifetime warranty so you can't really go wrong with them. A set of springs are almost always going to ride better than coilovers. Get whatever springs suit your preference 1 inch drop, 2 inch drop, etc

Ok so I now have received the rear KYB shocks shipped to my house, I open the package and they're black and called EXCEL-G, instead of silver GR-2. Anybody know if they're the same thing? Hopefully they didnt send me the wrong shocks.
With new Honda springs and KYB shocks, hopefully it'll be smooth yet take a pothole beating

Do I have to get all new control arm bushings, strut mount bushings, and strut boots with bump stops, and strut mounts from kyb or can I use the ones from the original shocks?
Ok, i just got my new KYB shocks installed. I now have new tires, shocks and springs. and really... still feels pretty much the same, i thought the shocks were beat. but when taken off and inspected they seem good after testing them. They really are OEM replacement. they take bumps good enough but dont make the car feel superstable through bumpy roads either, they do absorb the impact. maybe i might need strut and sway bars or new bushings, if they even make a difference. in the future ill try out tein or skunk2 coilovers and see if they feel good on bumpy roads. Overall I feel no difference after the KYB install. I wonder if the bushings make a world of difference as far as ride feel and bump absorption. well thats my 2 cents. next experimenting with proper exhaust for nonvtec
update, now after breaking them in they do feel better, they take every pothole well and seems to be stable on the road. i would recommend KYB to anyone who wants oem replacement and a soft ride or good bump absorption.
Sell your car and buy a Cadillac. You want a comfort suspension for absorbing potholes and bought a Honda? Thicker tires is what you need to get like a 65 tire
um nah thnx, i think ill pass... never sell my teg for a cadillac especially. and just cuz its a honda dont mean comfortable suspension isnt possible.. look at acuras cars..? all comfortable rides. and look at my earlier post.. im pretty satisfied with my new kyb shocks.
