Default Y8 hg on D15B1

Can I use a Y8 head gasket on my D15B1? I am planning to do a mini me swap I have most of the parts but I dont have the funds to get the rest. Since the Y8 head gasket is one of the parts am missing and is the cheaps of the missing parts. I was wondering if I could just use the Y8 till I have the money to buy the rest of the parts?

Thanks for the help.

Yes - but remember it's going to raise your compression higher...

When I raise my compression do I need to adjust timing also? It is an all stock block other than I have an A6 cam and Y8 cam gear.

I don't think you have much of an option here.
You need to use either the Z6 headgasket or the Y8 gasket.
They used to be different with the Y8 being the thinner of the two.
However, they no longer make them that way anymore - they are the same thing.

You will need to set your timing to make sure it's correct.
Nothing out of the stock setting is required.

Ok I need to buy a Y8 or Z6 head gasket. Then just redo the timing and I should be good.
