gsr crx, ran great then changed motor now has bad miss fire
I have a 1991 crx si, it had a obd2 gsr in it, it ran great and drove fine. Well one night it blew up, so I got a replacement engine (obd1 gsr) , hooked everything up and swapped it in, now runs like it has a huge miss fire and has code 22 and 5, vtec pressure and map, I don't see why it could be the map, it worked fine on the old engine. Any ideas on where to start looking? changed wires, timing is all good too
is the MAP sensor firewall mounted or throttle body mounted? its possible the vtec pressure switch is bad on the new motor. try swapping in your old one.
thats why your CEL is on for you vtec oil pressure switch. all you have to do is splice the pressure switch wire (stock color is blue/black on engine side) to the vtec solenoid. this will bypass the oil pressure switch.
