Heat coming through shifter
Since I did the manual conversion, I am not sure if I am suppose to have a rubber boot insulator (like above in the pic) on the shifter tunnel to keep out heat and moisture etc. All other Manual cars I have driven had one. Does the DC have such a rubber boot under the actual shift lever boot?
I don't think my Linkage/Shifter came with one. Can anyone verify? Im looking at the AcuraOEMParts.com diagrams but I'm kinda lost until I tear into my console later tonight.
Just thought I'd post an update. After further investigation, I have all the boots and rubber insulators. The problem is with the 5spd conversion the actual tranny tunnel is cut out for the automatic shifter, so there are tons of spaces and gaps around where a round boot should fit but the tunnel cutout is somewhat oval in shape.
My Solution: I will be using some dynamat Xtreme and sealing up the tunnel. and gaps around the boot. I think that should work.
