Plowing with Si
Hello All -
With winter fast approaching I have a couple of questions related to winter activities with my 2008 Si. I purchased this car in the middle of the summer and have been enjoying it ever since. I want to know if it is possible to put a plow on the front. I looked underneath on the front and it looks like if I cut through the lower fascia, there should be some room to mount up the brackets
I just wanted to see if anyone has done this or has any tips to putting on a plow? I figure with snow tires and front wheel drive, this thing will be a descent plow machine.

I think that would be kinda cool especially if you're going to be driving it during the winter anyway. Let us know what you find out; I've taken off my bumper, but never looked at mounting points for something like that.
No! I hope you're just trollin, you don't have enough weight for it to be viable, have fun ruining your shocks, tweaking your frame rails and blowing out your transmission.

It's the fifth one in the gallery concerning the yellow Porsche 968.
Perhaps the OP already knows about this article?

O.O Yeah...... I hope you're joking. I would think that it'd only take a little common sense to know that can't be done/is a really bad idea >.> and even if the suspension/tranny on the civic did hold up... have fun plowing with a 2wd fwd car that is as light as it is lol..
There was a Civic hatch that someone used as a beater to plow their tiny driveway area. That was a beater though, a much cheaper car (wouldn't suck too much if it died) and only their private driveway area.
I wouldn't risk it with a car like the one posted, but hey, not my car to f*** up.

Not sure if trolling...
I've seen it done with other cars and 2wd trucks. Can't say that I'd recommend it, you've got to be pretty abusive with a 2wd plow vehicle if you want it to be even marginally effective.

this must be a troll thread, I could see using a car like my huge old Lincoln as a plow car, but it's got a 5.0 and it's rear wheel drive, plus it weighs as much as a truck , I've sen that done with 70's one, I grew up in Ohio, and some guy made one for clearing the street, of course it also had a big block standard, it would have pushed that civic out of the way into the snow drifts,
