Default LS Turbo Build

Rebuilding an LS motor i got and want to build it for a good turbo street car. Still in the midst of collecting some more parts and getting funds squared away, but here is a list of what i plan to do as far as motor and transmission.

Since i have never assembled an engine before, but practically know how to do everything anyways from past experiences and reeeeeesearch I have decided to rebuild my engine with oem replacement parts. Because 225-250 whp is my goal and don't need anymore for a Daily Driver.

Block:
B18A1 stock 81mm bore
stock crank, thrust washers, and rod and main bearings
stock rods with arp's (for added insurance)
stock replacement pistons/rings
stock replacement oil and water pump
Cometic head gasket (not oem, but might as well)
ARP head studs (why not...)

Head:
Stock head
All necessary gaskets and seals replaced in cylinder head

All machine work is done by a professional. i.e. balancing, resurfacing, honing, etc.

As for the forced induction part, lol almost forgot. I am going to be buying a kit from GO-AUTOWORKS.COM and it is the very first turbo kit for Honda/Acura. believe it is the tuner kit with the garret super 60 turbo.

OR

I might throw a kit together to sustain my power goal and possibly leave room for upgrade, and also wouldn't know to use internal wastegate or use external for this basic rebuild and power goal. feel free to leave opinions on what ev'

I am building this motor this way, because it will be my very first engine assembly and don't want some really nice forged parts to get damaged in case something were to happen.....JUST IN CASE.

And i am 100% happy with my build decision and am only looking for 250whp max!! which is allot for a 2300 lb car.

i have done well over 2 years of research about building a motor for a turbo, and know for a fact that it is best to build it right the first time. I really want to sleeve it one day to 84mm (OR stay 81mm for better Head Gasket Area) and just run a basic piston/rod combo and valve train with some turbo cams. which will be way more than enough power for my Daily needs. but like i said, It is my FIRST build and dont want to mistakenly forget one minor detail and BOOOOM goes the dynamite.

I am up for any questions about the build and will get pics up soon. Got quite a few more trips i gotta make to the machine shop and dealer, but my overall goal is to have it built by spring time.

Thanks HT

That's whats up. You guys are first on my list for sleeving!! Besides the block, what else do you need to sleeve a block? Do you need an oil pump and crank to do a line hone?

Thanks.

I have actually considered running a streetable NA LS/Vtec instead of turbo because NA is more my style. Anyways, i would still prefer you guys for getting my block sleeved. Since my plan is NA and am looking for a new goal of around 220whp I plan to run a 2.0 liter. My question is, do I have you sleeve it for 84mm 2.0 liter? or for 81mm 1.8 liter and have my machinist bore it to a 2.0 liter as he does the remaining machine work?

Thanks again.

Never mind that. Just read your GE Sleeving Process on your earlier post. Thank you.

Any questions do not hesitate to ask.
O ring would be a good idea too - When you want to boost in the future.
Do you have any pictures of your ride?
