coolmate 3 water cooler wiring
I just picked up a miller coolmate 3 for my dynasty 200dx. I got the 230v version cause it was only half price.
There is a spot that looks like it's made for a switch on the top left front panel.
1. Has anybody wired their dynasty into their coolmate so the water cooler must be turned on for the welder to operate? The way I have them mounted it would be nice to have 1 power switch to control everything.
2. Will it cause any harm to the dynasty shutting the power off at the plug often instead of using the switch on the back?

I would do this with a 4 pole motor contactor with a 120v coil, a nema enclosure and 120v light switch or comperable rocker switch. I would not advise trying to switch a 2 pole high current device like a dynasty through a rocker switch on the front of the water cooler. However you could mount the switch & contactor in the water cooler if there is room.
Wire:
240V -> contactors -> machine power input (There will be 2 legs for each machine)
120V (single leg of 240v + ground) -> switch -> contactor control coil
Turn on the switch, will engage the contactor coil, closing the relay and both machines will turn on.

Yes, I have a similar need,
I have the same tig wired to 220 and not sure why miller decided to not put a 110v plugin on the back... baffles me... it is quite annoying.
However other then voiding my warranty and putting a 110v outlet in the back to simplify wiring would be really handy along with different ways of routing hoses.
It would be nice if they had the option to route input and output hoses from the water cooler to the back or side or bottom of the device... but BUT! maybe that's just the way it is.
