Default Point Blank do i need a camber kit?

I have a 00 Civic si, i bought the Skunk 2 Shocks and Springs/Coilovers. I went to a shop to have them installed and the guy said i need a camber kit or i would be lucky to get 2 months from my tires. Running 16 inch rims on 205/45's.

Half the people say yes half say no, on this car do i need one?

na you wouldnt, everyone does say that, but since they are adjustable, and actually better support rather than oem brand, and lowering springs, you tend to have the cars weight balanced on all four corners, I had skunk2 coilover sleeves with kyb struts, and never had any camber wear. Now, with lowering springs on stock struts, like on my del sol now, yeah, i go through tires atleast every month.. but, got my tokico whites with skunk2 sleeves. just waiting for the weekend.

You didn't have it aligned did you?

<---- stock shocks, skunk2 coilovers, perfect tire wear.

What is your alignment specs? the shop is going to tell you need an camber kit, because they A, want to sell you one, B, want to charge you more to align the car.

the car needs aligned after any suspension tweaks u may do especially if your lowering your car. no you do not NEED a camber kit. it depends on the purpose of this car if you are going to auto cross the car you want to have some negative camber but if your drag racing you want the whole surface area of the tire to be on the ground for better traction. it also depends on how much you are lowering the vehicle if it is a lot. you will have a lot of more neg camber in the rear ( due to the independent suspension setup)and you do not need a camber kit to fix this. you could use washers and longer bolts to push the top of the tire out or buy a rear camber kit only(they are cheap). since the axles are in the front you wont have as much camber in the front and it wont be as necessary.you will need to have it aligned to fix the toe this is what really eats the tires up fast.
