Default Throttle Position Sensor or something else?

I'm not too great with cars, but I'm trying to learn as I go, so please bare with me....

Since I've gotten my car in Feb I've had a problem occasionally when I would start the car and when I would try to take off, it would take up to thirty seconds to respond no matter if I had my foot all the way to the floor on the gas pedal or not.

Lately, this problem has been becoming more frequent when I start my car. It doesn't give me any other problems while driving. When I get on the highway, it feels as it takes forever to get up to where I need to be, though, and it feels like it takes a few seconds for the rpms to increase and my speed.

Any help would be great.... I would like to trouble shoot it before a mechanic tries to rip me off....

Thanks

Hey bro that hella sounds like the fuel pump starving the engine. The pump could have low output but i have seen the sock on the fuel pump become clogged due to crap in the tank. By the way is the check engine light on or does it flash when you put your foot in it? But i have seen this a few times and it was the fuel pump every time. I hope that helps brother.
