Just finished my lsv setup in my hatch and when in high rpms the car breaks up sounds like crazy misfire. Rpm gauge goes bananas, jumps from 6k-8k then 0 repeatedly. At first we thought it was the coolant temp sensor bc it was throwing that code, but we figured out we forgot to splice and connect that :facepalm:. Used to only do it once in a while but now everytime it goes into vtec it breaks up. B16a2 head on b18b1 block chipped p28.

 

try replacing your igniter im pretty sure that will take care of your problem.

 

New dizzy, wires, and spark plugs?

It was the dizzy, new cap and rotor and now I'm ripping all the way to 8500. Thanks

 

my hatch does the same thing after after about 5.8- 6k rpm the tach goes krazy,

 

ok so it wasnt the cap and rotor, car still does it no CEL anybody know what could be wrong?

your gonna spin bearings revving that up past 7k

 

Did you gap your plugs properly? How is your fuel system? Check fuel pressure.

 

check ur grounds.

 

why do you say that?

didnt gap the plugs at all just bought them and threw them in. fuel system is stock

all grounds are good. all new wire

 

Check your gaps. If they are NGK's, I bet they will be under .04. I bought v-powers and they were at .033 and they needed to be .044. Same with my NGK iridiums.

 

how do i know where they need to be? at .044 also?

 

Check the manual, but I believe it is .051" for b16.

ok bringing this back, replaced the dizzy with new cap and rotor and nothing. We pulled the plugs and replaced them did a valve adjustment, the car ran good for 2 days then started to break up again. Car only does it at WOT if i hold it at 1/2 throttle and bring it to like 7k it doesnt do anything... anybody have any suggestions? this is getting really annoying.
