I have a 91 Integra Stock B18A1 and im experiencing some problems.

Okay a was coming home from work one day and my car just shut off. as i atempt to restart it, i got nothing but loud back fires. got it home reset the timing and everything it ran fine for a week. Then this time it went BANNNGGG and cut off on a 40mph road. it again backfire and when i start to start it. it start fast (cranking) but no turnovers. mind you that the first time it cut off the cams were in different positions. okay my uncle reset my timing the car started again but this time it had really rough erratic idling (Sounds like a cam camro). i Tested it out and the car would not take of at all . Once the idle reach too 3 grand all the power kicked in and it drove normally. but if it reaches under 3 grand its back acting crazy. i hear no engine Chatter or noise just misfires ,back fires and erratic idling.

it has new just about everything , the belt was streched the first time it jumped

DOES THIS SOUND LIKE A BENT VALVE

 

Any help or suggestion are greatly appreciated

 

Give it a leakdown test to check your valves and get a good diagnosis of the BANG. Check the cam timing again.

 

only reason i havent did such is because i would have too tow it to a shop ? and im in delaware shops are kind of far and just towing alone would be alot . which i could have sent that on a head or whatever lol

 

i did the few remedy home test like the put a piece of paper by your exhaust if it sucks it in then its suppose to bent valve but if it blow the better out idk i dont know how true that is. but my car blew the paper out

 

either bent valves or timing skipped

 

It sounds like you are one tooth out of time. I had the same thing happen to me like 9yrs ago. Redo the timing and make sure it all lines up properly and you should be good to go.

 

As mentioned, check valve timing, I would also check the timing belt and belt tensioner. 94
