trannys dead, need some ideas...
My tranny is on its last days. Are there any performance companies that have internals for it? I've been waiting on level 10 to bring out their rebuild kit but they're just dragging their feet. Would an S or vtec tranny make the car any faster? Also, is there a better throw out bearing than the stock one?
Any ideas welcome. Thanks.

Well, sorta. Level Ten hasn't released the rebuild kit yet. But, there supposed to soon. At least thats what they keep telling me. Are there any other companies like them.
BTW, its a manual.
P.S. hondaprelude.com withdrawl DOES suck!

Just a thoughtful reply-if you have a lot of $$$ then maybe Quaife has something to put in your tranny. Otherwise, got to Honda and see what is in the parts book that might be stronger than stock. Then again you can use stock parts too. As to throwout bearings-the aftermarket clutch makers may have something.

you could just buy a used tranny with decent miles on it. most places selling used parts give a 90 day warranty if something isn't right with it... at least all of the shops i have dealt with through www.car-part.com. i bought a used h23 tranny for $300 shipped. my act xtss clutch, $415, and flywheel, $305, actually cost more than the tranmission...

I believe the 88-91 ex or si tranny would be your best bet. A vtec tranny really isnt that much better and you would have to use a hasport mount kit to go from cable to hydraulic. You could also try to contact hondamotorsonline.com to get a zc tranny equipped with a lsd. Sorry, Im used to frequenting the crx forums, and didnt realize where I was. When I saw your name, I thought it said racecrx. Once again, I apologize, I am an idiot

the only trannies that will fit the h22 are H22, H23, F22, F20 (euro DOHC accord), and I think one more wierd variant. basically ANY prelude from 92+ and any accord from 92+ will bolt straight in. other than that.... no.
