Default windshield wipers won't work - blown fuse

Hi. I tried to turn on my windshield wipers but they wouldn't work. I check the fused, it was burned out. Replaced it and I tried to turn the wipers on and it worked but I tried again and they won't work. So is it the motor or something else?

2000 Honda Civic.

Check your wiring might have a break or a tear somewhere thats grounding out causing the fuse to blow

When you got a short that grounds before the consumer it will blow the fuse since the consumer didnt use the power.

I am not a car person. Where can I find the wires to see if they broke or have a tear in it?

Does unplugging the windshield wiper motor prevent the fuse from blowing?

Does the fuse blow only when the wipers are turn on? If so, does the fuse blow when the wipers are set to low or high?

Do you have a multimeter?

Hi again. I took my car to a car shop and they said it shorts out when I do the wipers for the wiper fluid. He got it working temporaily but he says he wants it for a full day. What does that mean? Could it be the motor or the wiring? I just want to know.

What does that mean "he wants it for a full day"? You should have asked HIM that question. Did you ask him what he was going to be doing for the day he wants to keep it? How much is this going to cost you? All questions you should have asked him, not us.

I'm having the same problem with my windshield wipers. Did anyone resolve the issue and know the answer to why this happens?

I had same problem and found a short near the firewall where the wiper motors wires come through into the engine area. The wires are wrapped in plastic flex hose before and after the firewall. Through the firewall they aren't wrapped and one of the wires insulation was worn through with the copper wire exposed. This looks like a poor way to route cables - should be wrapped here as well. Hope this helps someone isolate their problem.
