I have a teggy and im going to replace the axels because they are broken. My car is boosted and puttin down 450whp. I am thinking of getting some stock ones to be cheap so I can do other things but I was also looking at the DSS 2.9s. Is there that much of a difference between the two? Is it that much better to get the DSSs? any help would be appreciated thanks

 

Assuming your axels are broken because of the 450 hp, I would definately upgrade to something that can withstand that kind of power. Besides, if you're wanting to go farther with it, you're going to need that extra strength in the future. It's just my opinion, but it seems like it would be alot easier to buy a strong set of axels now and replace them once, than to keep buying the stock axels and changing them out when they break.

 

depends on what is causing your axles to fail. if you're just dumping the clutch, a dss will still snap.

 

No I don't dump the clutch the axels have always been broken before I did the build some people told me to get a diff first because there is no LSD in my car right now. But they have also said stock could hold up fine but I don't know.

 

Are you driving the car? what exactly is broken on the axels?
