Default Newbie ignition help..

This is my first year racing, I share a 95 honda del sol with a B17 VTEC motor swaped in it. Last race weekend we had a bad misfire, checked it out, and replace the coil and engine control module in the distributor. Put a new cap, rotor, plugs and wires on it. We found a few connections were loss so we tightened them up. Then the car ran much better, But if the motor wasnt completly warm it would miss, only a small amount. Now after the owner ran a sprint with it, Went its cold it misses really bad, and even warm if your not above 5000RPM it will miss. Anyway, i am not a big eletrical guy, but i have a non VTEC B18 distributor as well, will this one work, The engine control module part number was the same for both VTEC and non-VTEC motors.

Any help would be great.

Sometimes the engine forums are more informative than we would be.
Id swap out the dizzy and see what happens but only with a b17.
make sure the plug gaps are correct.
Also double check the engine timing.
