bad transmission? 94 accord f22a1
my customer brought a replacement trans for his accord (that i installed an engine in)
based on previous business with him I took his word that it was good.
come to think of it that engine he brought a while back had a hole in the pan, jumped time, and smokes like an old steam engine. maybe i'm the one at fault here. .
anyway
the stick will shift forward into 3rd, or straight back to neutral.
no side to side and no 2nd, 4th, or reverse.
its not grinding , the shift er just wont shift.
i disconected the cabels and shifted it by hand from under the hood with no luck
the shift levers just go and stop (to soon) as if they where hitting their stops.
what could cause this? i do have his old trans so parts are cheap, but that trans is messed up to

this sounds terminal. .. is this something i could get at without removing the trans?
if no then i have the other one, but it has no reverse. .

well i fixed it.
in my quest to find this mysterious bolt, i found the actual culprit.
a bent fork with a short dowel welded to the end. this fork is connected directly to the cable that moves when you move the stick right to left.
stole the good one from the extra trans, now it works as it should.
thanks for the inspiration to tear it down, only took 20 min. to fix in the end!
now i have successfully installed an f22a1 from a 4th gen 92 accord in place of a f22b2 in a 94 5th gen.
