Spoon ecu p73 003 DC2 ITR B18C6 issue VTEC don't work and CEL
Hello, i have a DC2 ITR 1998 B18C6 w I/E and i have bought a genuine spoon ecu P73 003.
After install i tried to do the reset after start up 10 minutes on idle, than turn off. again 1 minute on idle, turn off.
turn on and go...the idle is 1100 a bit too much for my tast but after that all right the engine seem to have better torque and response, BUT after a while the engine check light goes on, the engine still work well but there is no VTEC (also w the engine check off) i have tried to make other times the reset but it don't change, when i switch on the light is off and after a while it goes on.
reinstalling the stock ecu the problem is solved...but w the spoon it don't work
i have still not check the error
If anyone can help me i'll appreciate
thanks you very much
marco

if it truly is a spoon ECU, then I hope you have all the right parts that it was tuned for.
if you don't you're better off with a tuned ECU, Neptune, eCtune, Crome or even Hondata.
as far as your problem, CEL on means no VTEC 99% of the time.
jumper service jumper and read the CEL flashes, fix the problem it's complaining about and you'll be in business.

you are right about to get hondata but now i have this and i can't sell it if it don't work fine...
the harness are right obd2a like my stock
please can you tell me how to jumper and check the CEL flash?
someone tell me about the engine oil level different into the jdm b18c engine...can you confirm that?
the VTEC don't work neither w the CEL on neither w the CEL off, the strange thing is that the stock ecu works fine, but also the spoon work well under VTEC (better than stock ecu) but the VTEC don't engage so it is unuseful...
thanks to all
There is a two-wire plug above the passenger side kick panel. Jumper it with a paper clip and turn the ignition to the run position. The codes will flash on the CEL.
The ECU codes are here: https://honda-tech.com/forums/acura-integra-6/ecu-abs-codes-here-978933/

so in that case i don't know if the ecu has an error because when i turn off and then restart the engine the CEL is off, i will try. thanks

It sounds like the Spoon ecu is bad.
If the OEM does not give you those codes, and the Spoon one does, it points to a defective Spoon ecu.
