car's first CEL: came on in a pull, went away after 10 miles and restart
Title pretty much says it all, this is the first time the car has ever thrown a CEL
the situation goes as follows:
1. was on the interstate, did a 3rd gear pull to about 80 and backed off.
2. CEL came on after that happened
3. drove 10 miles to get home, during some stops, the CEL would blink but would blink in the fashion -bright- -brighter- -bright- -brighter- it never went completely off
4. car behaved normally throughout the drive
5. when i got home, turned the car off, cycled the key, and the code was gone.
so given this situation, what type of CELs could pop up in a pull and go away during same drive?
thanks to all that reply
edit- oh yeaz, car is a z6 ej1 5-spd

bump, any of the experts got any clue? i'm guessing it could have been a slight misfire or maybe a dirty crank, cal, or tic sensor?
Could have been a code for either Vtec Solenoid or Pressure switch. Jump the 2 pin service connector and see if the code is still stored.
This is also my wild guess.
Linked -- You'll find this tip in the CEL sticky:
Tip #2: In some cases, for 5th generation Civics (92-95), the CEL may turn on while driving, but if the engine is turned off, the CEL and CEL code will be lost. The workaround to allow recovery of the code when this happens is to safely pull to the side of the road and leave the engine running while you jump the service connector.

i didn't know i could pull codes while the engine was running.
tomorrow i'll safely recreate the event and see if the code comes back, then i'll get it pulled and report back here
thanks guys
