Hey guys, on eBay this company sells replacement carpet for civics that you can get in Type-R Red. I'm not worried about the color, however i am worried about the fitment, I drive a 99 Hatch by the way, also the example picture is just that, an example, the carpet is supposed to be custom made after purchase. I already know the example picture isn't what the carpet actually looks like. Has anyone ever done this? In the first link is the Listing for the Carpet, however the second link is the actual color of the fabric. Thanks in advance for any responses! :D

When will people stop buying cheap knockoff ebay stuff? I can guarantee you that the carpet will require cutting and will have **** fitment.

So, which should I buy. I paid 2K for my del sol, should I pay more than 1/4 the value for carpet? It's not like i'm buying cams or pistons knockoffs. Its f'n carpet, pretty hard to mess up.

Right now, I have cheap floormats to cover over the chunks of missing carpet and padding. The car was destroyed when I got it. Short of OEM, I checked all the junkyards for decent shape one, I decided to try $129 shipped.

try the marketplace for a decent shape oem carpet and dye it... it will look like new and fit perfectly and muuucchhh cheaper

Well guys look, $150 for a brand new carpet is a pretty sweet deal, and even if it does require some trimming. At least in my mind. Realistically, just the carpet, not the oem type r floor mats, no one would ever know the difference.

...stock interiors have actually pretty damn good carpet how long does dye last on carpet honestly not long if your floor mat slides alot or if u dont have floor mats

I don't really see what the problem is. It's carpet. I wouldn't bother going through the hassle of ripping out my existing carpet, dying it, hoping that it's going to turn out good, waiting for it to fully dry, etc.

$160 for carpet is kind of spendy; but if it fits good and looks decent.. I'd say it's worth it.

A lot of people need to understand (you included hyperblu) that modifying Hondas is largely going down the knockoff route. Is it right? Some would say yes, others would say no. Is it hurting legit retailers who sell genuine parts? Absolutely. But, you'll find that the Honda crowd is by far the cheapest crowd when it comes to modifying cars. The want the part/product at the cheapest price and there is a huge market that is willing to give it to them.

If you will only put OEM Honda or name brand, genuine parts on your car, good for you. But don't knock on others who want to save some money fixing up their car the way they want.

i was debating on doing the same thing in my daily. i ended up finding an oem carpet on craigslist and plan on using sem fabric paint. my friend did it in his daily and it turned out amazing on his whole interior with the black sems
