Default Skunk2 short shifter adapter

Been searching for info but when installing should the shifter be in a gear or not. I couldnt find instructions any where just couple youtube videos and didnt say. Thanks

Just in case anyone else was wondering I left it in neutral, only issue I ran into was at first did not have adapter up as high as it could go so for a moment lost 2,4,5,6,r. Then was normal once I seen that. The one thing I do recommend is to have net or bag to catch anything that falls (saved me a few times).
Time was about 30 mins do to fact with the listed gear issues above. Performance: definitely do feel a big difference in gears shortened, so overall I'm happy. Sorry no pics wife had camera.
