ef w/gsr swap, wiring b5/alt/vtec ps
I read a few writeups that say cut wire b5, run ecu to oil switch and cap the engine side of b5. Well, now my alternator is not charging. Any others run into this and find the fix?
You gave us nothing to go off of... What OBD? I can assume OBD-1, but people do some stupid stuff on here. What ECU are you running/trying to run? Basically give a lot more information because "it says cut my stuff man, and now it ain't workin" doesn't tell a whole lot.
nope. looks like he is running it OBD0. why would you want to cut the alternator wiring to the ecu?
and after you cut it, you wonder why its not working? try re-connecting it and see what happens.

It is obd0, like ef's are, otherwise I would have mentioned a vital mod to my diagnoses. so, crx_sir, are you saying that the pin for my oil pressure switch will run my alternator? Can you elaborate more on why you think I should disable my vtec to run the alt? I will put the pm6 back in to see what the outcome is.
Man.
B5 is alternator. PUT IT BACK NOW.
Why are you just cutting wires????
See - B5 is alternator

For switch vital pin, back mod the vtec oil to alternator pressure. Then elaborate mentioned diagnoses so more pm6 will run B5 to disable the outcome and it is to see the writeups say that put ef's because alt are would have charging not into engine cap fix.
Get the correct GSR ECU and add wires like this
um no. what im saying is the pin you cut for your alternator is causing your alternator problems. you never mentioned anything about vtec having problems. all you said was:
ef w/gsr swap, wiring b5/alt/vtec ps
that says nothing. in your title. and your description says nothing about vtec problems.

You obviously don't speak Arizona Yoda language.

Ok, for all of you that are incapable of comparing pinouts and reading diagrams I will elaborate furthur. First off, that alt was bad. Swapped it to a d and it works. When you run the pr3/pw0 ecu in place of a pm6 you have to clip wire b5, if you leave it connected the alt won't charge over 12.2v. Don't ask why and I won't pretend to know. The b5 pin is now supposed to go to the vtec oil switch. Instead of calling me out on it, search it. Thank you helpful guys.
Nowwww you say what ECU you have and think we are all morons.
As confusing as your posts were and as lacking in information, I gave you more than you needed to answer your question whatever ECU you ran.
Sounded like you did a 1 wire vtec on an Si so B5 would still be alternator - and explain why you didn't charge.
If you would have just said straight up what ECU you had Yoda could have taken that day off.

Sorry for assuming you can read and comprehend what a vtec pressure switch is and why I would attempt to hook it up. How would one go about doing that on a one wire with a non vtec ecu?
I am sorry kid... I can assure you all 3 of us know 10x's what you know... I'll pretend you didn't ask that n00b question - and you can still pretend like you know it all.
