Ordered a 81.5mm gasket when the bore is actually 82. I went cross eyed when placing my order and switched the part numbers. Will the 81.5 cause a problem on a 82.

I was told you can do this. correct me if im wrong.

Whats the downfalls do doing this rather than buying a new gasket. Thanks for your time.

 

i think oem headgaskets are 82mm so if u go with oversized pistons u can buy the same size..so that shouldnt be a problem..

 

OEM can accomodate up to 81.5. that's all.

 

so your saying that i order a 81.5 cometic it'll be fine on my 82 bore?

 

What is the bore size of the gasket when you measure it? That is the only way you will know.

 

No. I'm saying that if you want to use OEM, you can only use it for up to 81.5mm. that's all. for 82mm, you need another Cometic. Since you have to use another one, get the correct size of 82mm
