Default No power

I have a '89 Honda Civic hatch that I just purchased. It had a swap done with it. I'm getting now power after I did a d16z6 swap. I'm getting 10 amps at the alternator when the key switch is off, but 12 amps when the switch is on. No power to the brake lights, headlights and dash. Yes, What's up with that?

Loose t-stat ground. Check connections at starter also and see if the Valve Cover ground is hooked up.

How can the wiring be all bad when I have power at 2 fuse boxes, get power at the starter even when key is switched off?

Ok, i'll check that tomorrow. That would make me have no lights whatsoever? Brake, head or dash lights?

Also, I do have the jumper harness in line from the computer to vtec, pressure switch and o2 sensor. Just need a wiring diagram of that too. It came with the car. I don't know who made the harness which sucks....

I'm sorry when I said alternator I really meant starter. I get 10 amps continuous to the starter then when I turn to key to crank over I get 12 amps at the starter.

guessing the body harness is from a 90-91? you have to use everything from the car the harness came out of, both fuse boxes dash harness etc. you have to convert the plug up under the dash to plug into the stock 89 rear harness, is this done? sounds like u have a wiring nightmare
also what's teh voltage you're reading? maybe your battery is dead?

The wiring harness is from a 89 Civic SI. All the plugs were re-pinned. I have the 92-95 computer and thought all I needed was the jumper cable. Are you saying I need to convert all that? I bought this car with the motor and harness already installed.

The battery is good. Tested and charged.

no i was assuming they used a 90-91 si body harness because it's easyer to find. if an 89 si harness was used you're fine. the only thing u need to convert to obd1 is an obd1 ecu, jumper harness, 4 wire o2 and an obd1 distributor. i'd tripple check all your power wires make sure everything is plugged in sounds like something is cut or missed

Ok, anyone have any jumper wiring diagram? I didn't get any. I was looking at Rywire but didn't see, I don't think. I have the distrubutor, o2 sensor.

Oh and OBD1 is like 92-95 ECU correct? That's what they call a p28? If so, then that's what I have. Just don't understand why i'm not getting any power inside the cockpit.

Turned out to be a ground on the battery. It was connected, but a little corroded in the post itself.
