Ok guys, got a new dilemma...

One of the rear wheel lugs on my 90 Accord DX coupe was stripped and I couldn't get the nut off. Took it to Midas and figured they could remove it, but all they did was angle the rim and try to back it out with the hammer drill. All it did was grind aluminum out of the hole and free the stripped bolt from the press fitting, so the whole lug and lug nut spun together, leaving me SOL. Idiot advised me to blow torch it off... No thanks.

I took it home, snuck a sawzall in there and cut the bolt off. Now I got two questions...

1) How safe is it to drive with only three lugs (I don't drive crazy, but I do like to corner on winding country roads)?

2) Did the guy totally screw up my rim, as in, will it safely hold a lug nut?

You'll be fine. I'm also running on three lugs on the driver's front wheel. Although I will replace it when I have the time.

I got guys running on two lugs but at a diagonal way.

 

I agree with nus you should be fine driving on that for a little bit. I dont think the seat for the lug looks to bad, a new lug should fit fine. Maybe your should order a new set of wheel bearings and throw them on to? Smooth ride ftw.

 

as long as the other 3 are torqued down right you shouldnt have a problem. if its got a lil play in it then i'de get a move on
