b18c1 oil leak problem
Hey guys, I'm new to this site and have been looking around for a good honda/acura site and thought this may be a good home for me. I just recently bought an eg civic with a gsr swap in it. When I got the car I noticed the car tends to pull hard to the right when I get on it at higher speeds (usually when vtec kicks in). I have no clue what would be causing that. Then here recently I noticed there was a smell of burning oil, so i looked under the hood and see where it is leaking down the side of the engine onto the tranny. I changed the valve cover and gasket and didn't fix it. It seems to be pooling on the head and also have some back spray on the firewall, also noticed some spray on the front bumper. Any ideas on the fix?? I'd post pix, but don't think I can since I'm new to the site, but will asap
Pix will help.
I would clean, [degrease/shampoo] engine ands engine bay till they are squeaky clean.
Start engine and let it get up to temp. keeping an eye on engine to see if you can locate source of leak(s), if not apparent right away, take it for a spin at low speeds and check for the leaks every few miles, if still no sign of leak, push the car harder and keep checking until source of leak is found. 94

So yesterday I went to the stealership and bought a new cam plug and distributor o-ring ($20) and installed them both. Yet I still notice oil slowing steadily from the vtec solenoid. Gonna replace that today ($8) then hopefully that resolves my problem. I'll post with update.
