J32 Dry Sump conversion. Any thoughts?
Now I have no plans on swapping a J series into anything anytime soon, but I did have a thought the other day while reading someones swap build. Since the main reason that the engines have to be mounted high is the oil pan clearance issue, why doesnt someone convert the motor to dry sump, I doubt it would be that difficult and it would probably make this swap much more desireable. Im aware of the added costs, but the benefits would be much more beneficial beyond just the oil pan issue. Any thoughts?
I realize that it is possible, but is it a viable option. Anything is possible but would this be a significant thing to do to this swap to make it easier/better
I've thought about this before as well. With a dry sump system the engine could be mounted lower in the bay while maintaining undercarriage clearance, and potentially remove the requirement for chopping the hell out of the hood.
Unfortunately, I am far from being able to afford a J swap with these bells and whistles.

Dragged this one back from the dead didn't ya? As far as I know, nobody has done this, although I do believe that there are mounts that allow a better fit.
Nothing to do with mounts all though it is about getting the motor lower. This is for a mid engine sports racer with a Hewland sequential transmission. I need a dry sump system to lower the motor by3.5”.

Ahh Gotcha, good luck. Someone may be able to custom build a system for you, as far as I know there is no off the shelf parts available.
