92-95 Manual to automatic harness plug and play
I have a new problem in my hands so I decided to create a new thread in order not to get the two mixed.
My car was previously an automatic...the auto to manual swap was done to it. A D16y8 and ex tranny was later dropped in.
The problem I have now is that, I had a bunch of junk wiring under my dashboard....wires going everywhere, to the alarm, power folding mirrors and radio. I could honestly care less about this for now. I basically want my car running. So I decided to eliminate all of the "extra" stuff that was added to it and go back to completely OEM.
I decided to pick up a complete, uncut, under dash harness. (the one that runs all the way through the firewall, to the round engine clips). I picked up a MANUAL transmission one, BUT my interior harness connections are for an automatic.
I put the new harness in, everything for the most part was plug and play. I put the key into the ignition, turned it to the II position and I can hear the fuel pump prime. BUT none of my lights work, nothing.
Can anyone help me out plz?

there are TINY differences in the auto vs manual harness, nothing as serious as your lighting system not working. most likely a user error and you'll have to recheck your wiring diagrams with a multimeter
You said that the interior harness is from an auto but you just said you bought a complete underdash harness? Just confused.
engine harness from what car/model?
dash harness from what car/model?
engine harness from what car/model?
dash harness from what car/model?
thanks for the quick reply guys.
The new harness I got was from a manual 93 civic. What I mean by uncut is exactly that, its uncut. I simply uncliped everything. The harness I got is the one thats against the firewall in the interior, one side leading to the fuse box and main relay on the left. The other leads to the ECU and out to the engine through a whole, which then connects under the fuse box and to the engine harness. This one would be the manual one.
The "interior" harness is the one thats against the left panel, which then leads to the back of the car via under the rug, on the left side. This part has the fuel pump wire, etc... this one would be the automatic one.
I connected the manual harness with the automatic one and everything pretty much plugged in correctly. Except for some clips, which Im about to take some pictures of and post.
Give me one minute.
The engine harness is from a 96-98 y8 because it has a swap.
The interior harness is from a 92-95 ex

'96 - '98 harness wont work in a '92 - '95 Civic, period. Manual underdash harness with automatic floor harness wont work either, some stuff is pinned differently.
dang u serious? i was told all D series harnesses would plug n play. Except for some extra ones in the automatic harness.
So since my engine is a 96-98 and it has a manual engine harness Im assuming.
I would need a automatic harness from a 96-98? due to the automatic interior harness? but the interior harness is from a 92-95? im lost..

ok, so even though my engine is a 96 D16y8, I still need a manual 92-95 civic or integra engine harness. Then install that with the harness I just bought which is already a 92-95 civic already...
then everything should be fine?
then everything should be fine?
You need to change the floor harness, the one that runs from the doors back to the fuel pump. It needs to match the underdash harness (the one you said came from a 5 speed EX)
gotcha. Thanks for the help. After installing, then swapping, then installing again, I ended up using the previous harness that came with the car already. All I did was made sure all of the junk wire the previous owner did was taken care of.
Thanks again, now what to do with this extra harness
