Engine tapping noise -- new head =(
aight guys im in need of a little help, my lil old coupe is startin to show some age... a few weeks ago i was beatin on it the way home, guessing i had low oil because i could hear it tappin a lil loud (always had a light tap) but now driving it normal i just cant get my mind of the tapp, so i have very limited funds and a few parts in the garage... i was wondering if i could just pop of my b7 head and drop on a y7 head i have sitting and if i could just use the stock dizzy? i have the gaskets and the y7 head is fresh, somewhere around 56k on it... any help would be very much appreciated
i topped it of and changed it twice since but not much improvement, and as far as adjusting the valves im not that familiar with working on valves and i dont wanna mess anything up
Adjusting valves is actually pretty simple.
Here is part 1 of a tutorial on Youtube.

And you will need a feeler gauge, flat head screwdriver, 8mm socket. They have the socket/screwdriver combo tool on Amazon.

I didnt even have to read to know VALVES!!! Get a feeler gauge from autozone and find the "how to" on the internet or use the one above or get the book for your car while at autozone. Takes maybe 30 minutes give or take. Good luck

It sounds scarier than it really is. Just make sure you do it with the engine cold and get those jam nuts on there good and tight.
