fans not spinning, cars over heating, spent to much... no good HELP HT!
sooooo i need help my fellow members on GREAT HONDA TECH(unlike that dumb rsx club)..
my cars been having some over heat issue since the 4th of july..
it over heated on the hottest day in MN this year... I believe it was in the 120s+ (humidity didnt help the car either). What happen was coolant flushed itself out of the bottom holes and also out of the radiator cap..
so far what I have changed and check is..
fuses under the hood, replace the coolant drainer(has a electric plug), thermostat, water pump, test the fan(it works), and now just replaced the radiator..
So what could it be? Before I changed the radiator both holes would get hot but now with the new radiator, only the top gets hot...
Can it be the coolant drainer plug? or do you think it has to do with the electric wires?
I hope you guys can give me some tips and help
Thanks

Okay, you say the fan works, which is good. But does it automatically turn on when it is supposed to? I would guess the temp sensor for the fan to turn on.
lol at replaceing parts at random.......when you refilled the coolent, did you jack the nose of the car way-way up in the air?....k20's high point in the cooling system is the head....unless you get the nose of the car way up in the air, you will have an air bubble in the head and the car will over heat.
What you should have done was run down a check list....
1) with the car cold, pop the rad cap, start the car and let motor run. Does the coolent in the rad get hot?....no = thermoastat is not opening or the water pump is not pumping.....Is water moving in the rad? No= bad water pump
2) if the coolent is hot and it moving then close the rad cap and watch the temp....does the fan kick on when it get hot? no= there is your issue....try the ac, the fan should turn on....no fan on with the ac = fan or wireing, fan on with ac but not on with hot coolent= wireing or therm switch.....
remember, you can test thermostats by tossimg them into hot water on the stove...just a little fyi, newer themostats fail in the open position so as not to damage your motor.
Now that you have cooked your motor, there is a good chance you have a blown head gasket....check your coolent, oil and compression. Motors made out of the same stuff as coke cans tend to not like a lot of heat
