Default 90 accord mt question

alright long story short had a buddy over helping me work on the car and while i was removing the bearing/hubs for a roh conversion he was supposed to be draining the mtf. but im pretty sure he removed the wrong thing to drain the fluid. there are two plugs on the passenger side of the tranny that are visible through the wheel well. both have a 1/2" drive hole in them. he used a half inch drive and removed the bottom plug and a very small amount of black fluid came out. i immediately replaced the plug when he said the tranny had no fluid in it.

been scouring the internet to try and figure out what he did and i cant seem to find any info. what the hell did he just drain and how do i fix this.

That would be the transmission oil. If it wasn't a plug in the block and it was in the M/T housing, it's transmission oil that came out. The larger Upper bolt is the fill hole and the lower 1/2" is the drain plug

so is that a different fluid then the mtf fluid. i see the 19 or 17mm filler bolt and the 3/8" drain plug closer to the driveaxle where the mtf is drained and filled.

what im unsure of is if the larger 1/2" lower plug to the right and the 3/8" plug right above it is also mtf or is it some kind of gear oil? my transmission ran great before i started taking things apart just wanna make sure it stays that way

ok guys my question was not too hard

my mt has 4 different plugs in it. two closer to the bumper and two closer to the firewall.

firewall plugs:
3/8" on bottom
17mm on top

bumper plugs:
3/8" in top
1/2" on bottom

what are the bumper plugs for?

When looking in from the passenger wheel well the trans oil fill and drain plugs are on the left of the drive shaft.

Oh yeah..sorry forgot what the initial issue was. Only fluid reservoir to be found in a M/T would contain ether 10w30(40) or MTF. There are no other fluid reservoirs in the M/T.

I'd still like to see a pic of the plug your buddy loosened, if possible.

You really don't need a picture. You should know where the drain and fills are. Just put the wrong bolt back on and then go refill the filler bolt.
