Default Diagnosing VTEC- Code P1259

Ever since I swapped my warped head at about 220k miles, the car just doesn't seem to pull like it should.

It acts the worst at the top of the rpm range in 1st, and in 2nd. At wot, it'll pull to about 5k, then it starts to struggle, and when it finally shifts, it shift really hard. If I really have to get going quick, I'll usually just let off the gas before redline, let it shift, and get back on it.

I recently got a P1259 code. "VTEC System Malfunction"

How should I start with diagnosing? Other then checking the wiring to the vtec solenoid, and the screen, which should be fine since I just cleaned it at the head swap. Is there any other electrical diagnoses to perform?

I don't hear any valvetrain noise, but maybe I'll pull the valve cover and check valve clearances.

Thanks.

Check to see if you have enough oil. Check for continuity (ohms) across the oil pressure sensor. If no continuity replace the sensor.

Thanks.

Oil level is good.

I've got continuity across the sensor.

What's next?

I tested the solenoid valve, and it Ohm'ed at 15.5 .

I guess I'll pull it apart next.

My Daughter called and said there was a Yellow light on the Dash of my Accord.
So I got the Scanner and came up with a p1295. First thing I did was check the Oil.
Guess what I found? Nothing on the Stick! Now I'm Pissed! Added 1 Qt and nothing still!
Thats what I get for not keeping tabs on my Car! I'm taking it in for an Oil change.
I just hope It didn't hurt the Motor! Keeping my fingers crossed !!!

Thanks For your Help Guys !

Later,

Steve...
