Icon2 89 tranny in a 92?

i have a friend with a 92 civic si and he needs a manual transmission. i just happen to have an 89 civic dx with a perfectly good manual transmission (not much else is good on it tho)and i was wondering if they are compatible. i know its outside the generation but i know it would fit my 91 civic and im hoping that one year wont make a difference (crosses fingers)

The 88-91 Civic has a cable operated clutch and the 92-95 has a hydraulic style clutch so it will not work.
