92 CIVIC DX HB AUTOMATIC

TL-DR: I want an indestructible auto tranny for a 92 civic HB, advice please.

So I just got this automatic '92 civic hb, and found out it doesn't reverse, and that when you push it a little like 3/4 of the way to WOT, then come off, the transmission just slips like it's in neutral. The car is completely stock and I want it to stay that way, but I know I need to replace the transmission at this point, so I want to put in the strongest or best transmission for my situation, the guy that towed me out of the ditch when I couldn't reverse recommended a rebuilt transmission from Jasper Engines. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Ah. I've just always had better luck with the longevity of a manual transmission. I have heard good things about the jasper rebuilt units as well. Actually, just the other day I was in a junkyard and someone had taken the engine but not the transmission out of a hatch and it had a jasper! I almost grabbed it right then and there.

A buddy of mine just grabbed me a tranny off a 95 that is being converted, and the car had 60k miles on it. 400 bucks installed we'll see how it goes.
