Default Can someone please find me a Catalytic Converter!

My 97 failed SMOG again, like it does every 2 years.
High HCs are the issue every time. I just spent the past 2 days doing a timing belt, grounding kit (stupid I know) and just general tune up. But I think it is time for a new cat.
I have a Random Technology cat on right now that is 2 years old. I was talking with Jeff from 1320 Motorsports in Elk Grove, and he said that the random cats are only good for about a year and that I should go back to a stock cat. I have driven around looking for a place that will install an aftermarket one, but all the shops want to weld one in, and I do not want a weld in cat.

I see that a stock one is $600+ at acuraoemparts.com, so my question is: is there a place to get/order a quality aftermarket cat that will actually let my car pass SMOG.

oh and BTW I hate CA and CARB and the EPA

plus I am throwing in pictures for people to look at

No clue about aftermarket cat. But just incase you do deside to buy OEM. hondapartsunlimited.com is about $564.13 ship. A couple bucks cheaper then acuraoemparts.com

Yeah it is looking like this might be the best option (finding a used one).
How much?

I took my R to a muffler shop and had them put on a cat, went across the way and did a test only. Passed with flying colors. Installed cost me $180, damn Cali and their smog every 2 years.

if u dont want them to weld it on then tell them u want flanges or find another shop. theres no reason why they cant put flanges so it all bolts on like oem... they can even use the flanges from your oem setup.

Ok that sounds like a good option.
