It should be near your firewall. You don't really know when its bad, I recommend replacing it every 10k to 15k miles.

I just replaced mine. I was very surprised that it increased my fuel mileage. To get to the filter you remove the intake tubing, and the black box on the firewall. You will need a flare nut wrench too.

The dealer service manager told me Honda used to say every 60,000 miles. Now they say it needs replacing only when it completely stops up. Mine had 200,000 miles on it and I just replaced it. I was told it is a bear of a job to get to.

"Now they say it needs replacing only when it completely stops up". Whoever said that should be fired.

I agree, its too late when it shuts your car down. I found it an odd statement.

on the cb7s the fuel filter is easy as hell to replace. you guys are lucky you dont have a cd. the fuel filter on those things is an absolute nightmare. the fuel filters can last quite awile. definitely dont need to replace it every 10-15k unless your fuel tank is really dirty.

before replacing the fuel filter buy a can of seafoam and pour the entire can into the gas tank. i usually do it when the tank is like 3/4 full. run the car until you are almost out of gas. replace the filter then fill back up and run ti down again. ill fill/use the gas like 3/4 times to make sure most of the dirt and seafoam has moved out of the tank. i usually do this to remove as much dirt as possible from the tank adn to get all that dirt stuck in the old filter as apposed to the new one

when I get under a half a tank of gas my rpms start jumping and you can hear the car whining up an down. when I hit the brakes my car shuts off and only does it when my car gets under a half a tank..
