Default Check out this MOMO wheel - what do I need to install it?

Guys,
I just picked this wheel up from my buddy's shop (he imports stuff from Japan):

Here's the rear hub connection:

Do you know what do I need to mount it on my '93 Hatch?

Thanks in advance!

Lol I wouldn't worry about it. Whatever it is, it's not spline-based. So you'll need a hub meant for whatever your body style is. The hub is the part you'll be replacing anyways haha.

NRG makes great steering wheel hubs from what I've seen. And you can get one of the quick release or the lower profile ones, and they come in a nice selection of colors.

Ah. Didn't notice the lack of splines.

This is the exact type of information I needed. Thanks bud, I'll look into NRG.

Keep the suggestions coming if you have any more please.

Just keep in mind (not certain but I'm fairly sure) that the steering wheel spline pattern is different between the eg and ek body styles.

That's correct. The splines are different from the 5th and 6th gens.

Thanks for the info guys.

Time to bump this thread since after a few weeks I finally got around to start buying the NRG stuff to put the wheel on the car.

I had some credit to spend on a vendor's website, so I just ordered this.

At first I thought I could just mount my wheel directly on the above short hub, but I now understand that I will need to buy a quick-release hub as well to mount between that and the wheel. Is this correct?

I knew I needed the EG short hub regardless... but still need help picking the next component make this happen. I contacted NRG and they told me that I can pick any of their quick release hubs except for the thin one (SRK-400).

I read NRG's website and this is my understanding of their quick release offerings:
  • Gen 1: original design
  • Gen 2: about the same as Gen1, but slight improvements
  • Gen 2.5: same as Gen 2 but easier to remove due to flared ring
  • Gen 3: even easier to remove than Gen 2.5 because of batman look

If the above notes are correct, then I would be leaning towards Gen2.
Do any of you guys have experience with their quick release hubs?
Which one would you recommend, and why?

Thanks in advance for the clarifications and suggestions!

Is a plain Gen2 that hard to remove even without gloves?

That damn little button pisses me off. But after a while it gets jammed so it's not an issue. At that point you can remove/install it with one hand. I will say that after years of constant use the ball bearings have gotten a little lose in the unit so you can hear them lightly clink as you turn the steering wheel. No effect to the way it operates for either issue. I would assume that the subsequent designs address these issues.

Come on Marc, what doesn't?

That's good info.
Because of this I will consider the other designs. I just sent an email to NRG asking for warranty details (how many years, mainly) because I couldn't find that info on their site.
