I took the intake resonator off and from the way it looks alone,
it's drawing air from inside the engine bay.

It is! Seems to be a rather retarded design to me. It routes the piping back up, and draws air from what I think is the ABS control thingy.

Ohh well, I pulled mine out, I'm much happier now! Sounds like an Integra!
