Default Q: d16y7 air intake system

Ok... I have a stock d16y7 in my civic and my dad decided we should try some crazy way of modifying my air intake. He took and taped a CPU fan to the end of the stock air tubing so it's taped in place and wont move or anything, and he told me that it should cause the air to spiral in the piping and feed more in??? I think he's crazy...

My impression on the air intake is that it's meant to draw in as much of the coldest air possible, so wouldn't some fan taped to the end cut down on the air fed in? It doesnt spin on the end or anything so it's not attempting to force air in (an intake turbo ) Would his method work at all? I know it's not gonna give me like a 10 hp gain but would it make the stock air tubes more "efficent" to say?

Also, anyone ever attempted like a forced air intake or something?

I'm just curious about all this, anyone's reply and hlep on the topic, or opinions are welcome and appreciated... Thanks!

Similar concept to that "Tornado" thing you cram into your intake piping?

hmm... ok, ******* opinions aren't appreciated... I didn't say I KNOW EVERYTHING ABOUT INTAKES, if I did would I be asking a question? I ask a question because I DONT KNOW and I would LIKE TO KNOW, I gave you my understanding of how something works not saying that it's correct, but simply asking that if it's not correct that you can please correct me.

Can someone nice tell me a nicer version of "YOU'RE A MORON!" please?

Don't mind these people alot of them talk **** but some are actually helpful. Wit your question, I don't think anyone really knows because no one has really done it and then put their car on a dyno. All people have to go by are the infomercials are full of ****. So everyone's answer to your question is really just there opinion with no solid facts to support them. I guess we will never really no unless someone puts it on their car and actually goes for a run on a dyno. Good luck though. One.
