b16a2 HELP

Default b16a2 HELP

ok so i got a 96 honda civic dx and i did a swap with a b16a2 with p2t ecu what ecu would i need because with the one i got witch is p2t i dont got power to my pump i also dont got mph or rpm working what could i do

if you did that swap in a 96 civic you had to reuse your engine harness which wouldnt work with a p2t ecu

yes i know
but some people say to use one off an ex and it should plug up with the p2t ecu

your wiring is a different OBD then the engine and ECU. U can try the 99-00 EX harness.

One thing about the honda game is not to rely on what this person said or that person did..As you can tell already, theres alot of mis-info all over the place.

Theres correct wiring harnesses out there just for swaps. Rywire has them and if you call them, they can ship out exactly what you need so you can do it right the 1st time.

thanks but dont you think spending 600 bucks just for a harness to muchh

You are right, for a 96, you are OBD2A. You need to use your existing 96 harness and add wires for VTEC, or use a 96 EX harness. Then to plug in the ECU, you need a OBD2A-to-OBD2B conversion harness.

He should already have vtec wired from factory since he has an EX d16y8 from the factory.

To run the ECU, you would need an OBD2A to OBD2B conversion harness. The stock wiring harness you have in the car should work on the B16.
