Default i'm scared...help meeeeeee

Is it Normal for the idle to rise when pumping the break

I apparently have a vacuum leak, the infamous idle up and down...
does this have anything to do with it

Mine does that too... if I keep pumping I can get the idle up to about 1500rpm

it's very normal. The brake booster is tied into vacuum. by pressing the pedal multiple times it consuming some vacuum that affects the idle of the engine.. no biggy.

normal.

thanks, I hadn't tried it in any other car
having no speakers cd player or sound makes you try different things when having to commute 45mins to and fro work

I learned about this back when I took driver's ed. Some cars use to have an on dash choke, then they started tying it into the brake pedal. On my carburated '86 samurai I pump the brake as the choke to help start the engine if it is cold or hasn't been started in while. Will work on your Honda too if it is hard starting.
